top-notch outdoor recreation opportunities in the Inland
Northwest to you, our customer. The OAP offers trips
and classes year-round that will challenge all skill levels
while highlighting the area’s four distinct seasons.

This program is designed for those busy folks that can’t
always get away for our scheduled trips or classes. With this program, you, the customer can call Outdoor Adventure at 247-5104 and pick the trip of your choosing and the specific date you would like to
attend and leave the contracting and scheduling work up to us. If you set up a trip with 10 or more paying customers you will receive 10% off any contracted trip and 100% off any in-house outdoor adventure led trip... that’s FREE if you set it up with us. We hope this program will allow you the time you need to participate in the wonderful outdoor recreation adventures
that only the Fairchild OAP can offer.

Trip Descriptions
Want to learn how to kayak whitewater or lakes? Our “learn to kayak” series of classes this spring and summer are a great way to get started. Subjects covered will include river hazards, proper equipment, reading the river, and basic paddling skills. The first class in the series is Intro to Kayaking. This class will introduce you to all the basics of whitewater kayaking in a safe setting of a pool. The next class in the series is Roll Clinic I. This class works more on paddling skills and the “Eskimo Roll.” The third class in the series is Kayaking Basic Moving Water (BMW). Itis a prerequisite that each person has attended the Intro and one Roll Clinic before attending this class. See Ryan Murphy for questions about attending. In BMW we will head to the Spokane River. The final class in the series this year is the Kayaking Advanced Moving Water. It is a prerequisite that each person has attended and completed the BMW class before taking the advanced class.

This is a new trip from OAP for everyone ages 12 and over that wants a new adventure. No previous kayaking experience is required. Inflatable Kayaks allow for two people to sit on top (like a raft) rather than inside (like
a traditional kayak). Therefore, it is a safer and cheaper alternative. Trips generally go down the Spokane River and custom trips can be scheduled for groups.

The Clark Fork River is located just minutes from
Missoula, Montana. With its friendly and fun Class III
whitewater; the “Gorge” is a fun-filled day of roller coaster rapids, quiet pools for swimming and the opportunity to see Montana’s abundant wildlife.
This trip is excellent for new rafters who are looking for a thrill and don’t want to take big risks. This trip will be guided by your experienced OAP staff. The trip includes transportation, lunch and all the safety gear you need. Participants may need to use some personal items. It’s a great way to spend a day with the family and friends.

The Wenatchee River is a ton of fun and goes through the beautiful orchards of Leavenworth and the Wenatchee Valley. This river has many big Class III rapids and is 18 miles long. The trip includes transportation, lunch and all the safety gear you need.
Participants may need to use some personal items.
Here is a fun activity for the whole squadron. Come
do a raft trip with the OAP. We will be glad to make
special arrangement for squadron raft trips. This trip
is the same as the Upper and Lower Spokane Trips with a meal at the end. What a great way to spend a day with your squadron!
Adrenaline junkies and adventure seekers apply within! This program will teach you how to be a whitewater raft guide and give you the chance to run big whitewater during spring runoff! Come out have a great time and learn to guide rafts. After finishing, the program new guides are eligible to help run regular rafting trips with the Outdoor Adventure Program.
The program is four weekends long and on four different rivers. We will be rafting the Clark Fork, the Spokane, Wenatchee, and one final secret river! This trip is guaranteed to be one of the coolest things you have ever done! The program also offers certification in Whitewater Rescue Technician (WRT) from Rescue 3 Int. and Whitewater Raft Guide certification from the
American Cone Association (ACA). For those who want the certifications the program cost is $425 and the cost for in house certifications is $200. Call and talk to Ryan for details and to sign up.
These classes are available to anyone who wants to learn how to rock climb. No experience necessary. Intro to Rock Climbing will cover all the basics of rock climbing, which include learning knots, how to use climbing equipment the right way, climbing techniques, and how to belay. You can learn all the basics in a safe and educational environment. Climbing Anchors I will teach the basics for setting a top rope and more advanced techniques for climbing. This class will be held outdoors at a local climbing area.
Climbing Anchors II class will go into more detail and wider range of skills. We will also be doing some rappelling in this class. It is a prerequisite that you have
completed both the Intro and Anchors I classes before taking this course. After this class you will have been shown the necessary skills to be able to set your own top rope and climb at the local climbing areas.

Enjoy the cool evening air and tranquil mountain trails from horseback while you ride. Meet up with a horse drawn chuckwagon and smell the mouth watering aroma of steaks frying, coffee perking, warm homemade
bread and all the trimmings to complete a truly western meal. Kick back, enjoy that last cup of coffee and dessert before you mount up and ride back to the barn. In September, when the days are shorter, we start as early as possible and usually come back to our barn area to enjoy dinner and an alluring campfire.
Trail Rules
* Minimum age of 8 years old
* No riding double
* No persons weighing over 250 pounds
* Horses to be ridden at a walk at all times
* Backpacks are discouraged
Meet Mike at the Clear Lake Lodge and fish till dark or until you catch your limit. Bring your own gear or get what you need at the Clear Lake Resort.
