The Teen Center is an after-school program for youth ages 13-18 and still in high school. Half-Day camps are available during the summer, winter, and spring breaks. Our affiliations with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, 4H, and Air Force programming
provide activities that meet the developmental needs of youth. Core programming includes activities in The Arts, Education & Career development, Character & Leadership development, Health & Life Skills, and Youth Sports & Fitness. Memberships are required and there are currently no membership fees. Some activities may require a minimal fee for participation.

YOUTH PROGRAMS has FREE YoAFF Spokane
Chiefs Hockey Tickets. Only 58 tickets for Sunday night, Mar. 14 game at Spokane Arena. Tickets are FREE for all DePLAYment tag holders. Non-tag holders can purchase the tickets for $12 each. These tickets can be picked up at the Youth Center during normal business hours. Please note, there are no phone reservations for these tickets. They must be picked up in person and are on a first come, first served basis. Also, transportation will NOT be provided for this trip. Families will need to provide their own transportation. Teen Aviation Camp
The Air Force Services Agency, in conjunction with the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA), is excited to offer the 10th Air Force Services Teen Aviation Camp from Jun. 5-10 at the USAFA in Colorado Springs, CO. These dates may impact school attendance, so please plan accordingly. This camp is for high school students entering their Sophomore or Junior year in the fall of 2010, who are interested in Aviation, Leadership or the USAFA.
All lodging, meals and program costs are at NO COST to participants. Selectees will be required to fund their own transportation to and from the camp. An application, interview and familiarization exam are required. Please pick up application materials at the Teen Center during normal business hours. Space Camp
The Air Force Services Agency is excited to offer the Air Force Space Camp from Jul. 25-30 at Huntsville, Alabama. The camp is a residential 6-day program that shows youth firsthand what it takes to be an astronaut. Activities include simulated Space Shuttle missions, training simulators, rocket building and launches, scientific experiments, and lectures on the past, present, and future of space exploration. More information on the camps is available at www.spacecamp.com. The camp is divided into two age divisions: ages 12-14 for the regular camp and ages 15-18 for the advanced camp.

The Youth Employment Skills (YES) Program
YES is an on-base volunteer program for high school students and is offered at Fairchild AFB. This program, underwritten by the Air Force Aid Society (AFAS), is a joint effort between AFAS and Air Force Airmen & Family Services Flight to offer high school students an opportunity to learn valuable work skills, "bank" dollar credits toward their post-secondary education/training, and have a positive impact on their base community.

YES allows high school students to "bank" $4 in grant funding for every hour volunteered in an on base function. Students may accumulate as much as 250 hours over all 4 years of high school combined, for a potential maximum of $1,000 toward their future vocational-technical or academic endeavors. In addition, the base will be credited with $2 for every volunteer hour, to be used in support of base youth program enhancements (up to $10,000 per year).
Interested students should contact the Youth Programs Director or the Teen Center Director for eligibility requirements and enrollment procedures.

4H Photography
The Teen and Preteen Centers offer a 4H photography club that meets every Tuesday. This is a great opportunity for the kids to explore their skills in digital photography. The club participates in several field trips that are based on sight seeing, wildlife, and art in the Spokane Area. Members will be given the opportunity to use a digital camera to take pictures on the field trips. They will also have the opportunity to gain experience capturing art through a camera lens.

4H Cooking Club
The Teen and Preteen Centers offers a 4H Cooking Club every Wednesday afternoon. This is an opportunity for the participants to gain hands-on learning in a kitchen.
The participants will work together to follow directions and brainstorming on how to improve recipes. Another aspect of the club is it will focus on a community service project. It will include the members in donating their service and time to another organization in the community.

The Rafting Trip on the Spokane River was this last May in an area called Bowl and Pitcher just South of Spokane. There was 18 kids and four staff rafting that day. We will definitely be doing more of this type of event. It was an AWESOME time had by all!
