The spread of COVID-19 throughout the United States, with three confirmed cases now in Spokane, has driven several second and third-order effects.
Within the last 24 hours, Governor Inslee announced the closure of all WA state schools from 17 March – 24 April and the DoD directed "Stop Movement" for ALL PCSs, TDYs and government-funded leave from 16 March – 11 May. Base leadership and subject matter experts continue to work through the weekend to discuss these issues and decide how to best mitigate their effects on our Total Force Airmen and families.
We recognize that we do not have all of the answers yet with this dynamic and rapidly-changing crisis, but we are committed to passing along emerging information as quickly as possible. In the meantime, please continue monitoring official social media channels and our new Team Fairchild-specific COVID-19 website at https://www.fairchild.af.mil/COVID-19/ as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html for information about COVID-19 and its prevention.
Thank you for all of your efforts to help keep our base community safe!
