Edward Lee Tuell, former manager of Fairchild's Auto Hobby Shop, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 21, 2023. He was 66. Born in Sacramento, California, Ed joined the Navy after graduating from high school.
His passion for cars started when he was young. After leaving the Navy in the late 80's, he gained an associate degree wherein he had taken a variety of Auto Mechanics courses. Ed ran auto hobby shops most of his adult life in places like Pensacola, FL, and Goodyear, AZ.
When he arrived at Fairchild, his first job was at Lodging. Not long after, he moved to Auto Hobby. Ed would spend over 20 years building the program to one of the finest in the Air Force, offering exceptional service based on authentic principles of honesty and integrity.

Ed was a patient man who treated everyone with patience and care, always willing to help customers with a smile on his face. He didn't need a lot and gave his heart to everyone he met. Those who knew him valued his deep devotion to family, his steadfast courage to stand up for those in need, and his great good humor.
He will be sadly missed by his family, friends, and customers alike. Survivors include his son Eddie Tuell, Jr., and daughter Alisha Zantow. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 11 o'clock at the Hennessey Funeral Home & Crematory, 2203 N Division St., Spokane, WA 99207 (509) 328-2600.
